UK-based sales and distribution company Protagonist Pictures (Sister Midnight) has boarded Rebel Wilson’s directorial debut film The Deb. The musical comedy, which Wilson also co-wrote and produced, follows a high-school misfit and her rebellious cousin preparing for a rural debutante ball.
This is a welcome development for Wilson, as The Deb was completed in late 2023 and has remained unreleased for over a year now because of legal disputes with her new film being produced by Live Nation Studios (A Star is Born) and Future Artists Entertainment (Poker Face).
