Amazon MGM's Adaptations
After many years in development, Amazon MGM is moving forward with the science fiction TV adaptation of Consider Phlebas, the first in Scottish author Iain M. Banks’ 10-book series about an interstellar post-scarcity society. The initial incarnation was originally put on the back burner due to the studio greenlighting several sci-fi shows like The Wheel of Time, The Boys, and Fallout. Interior Chinatown creator Charles Yu is writing and executive producing along with Oscar-winning Nomadland director Chloé Zhao through her production company Books of Shadows. Published back in 1987, Consider Phlebas has become widely popular in recent years due to its plot largely revolving around sentience being pit against AI. Plan B will serve as the production company.
From the author of BlacKkKlansman, Hulu and 20th Television are adapting Ron Stallworth’s incredible 2024 memoir The Gangs of Zion: A Black Cop's Crusade in Mormon Country. Multiple award winners Kevin Willmott (BlacKkKlansman) and Anthony Hemingway (American Crime Story) are set to write and direct the series, respectively. The shocking true story will be executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television and Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group.
Amazon MGM Studios and Safehouse Pictures are in development on a feature adaption of Lincoln Child’s NY Times bestselling six-part book series Jeremy Logan, under the latter’s first-look film deal with the studio. The film will follow Jeremy Logan who is a self-proclaimed “enigmatologist,” an investigator who works to debunk the paranormal and unexplained using modern science. Jeremy Lott (EP, Hannibal) and Cory Goodman (wri. The Last Witch Hunter) are writing the script.
Akiva Goldsman is developing a new sci-fi universe at Legendary Television, reimagining three of Irwin Allen's classic TV series spanning from 1964-1968

The project aims to modernize these stories while maintaining their nostalgic appeal. Goldsman, known for his work as a writer on A Beautiful Mind, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and Titans, will oversee the creative vision, while Legendary Television continues expanding its portfolio. No release date just yet, but they are in development, it is not clear whether this project is for three different shows, or some kind of anthology.
