Amazon’s Windy City. Clifford reboot. HBO’s Us.
Amazon MGM Studios is taking a trip to the Windy City, securing the TV rights to Liz Tomforde’s bestselling book. The first of the sports-centered romance series, it follows a close-knit group of professional athletes, each navigating new love. Alison McDonald (EP on Russian Doll) will write with Premeditated Productions through its first-look deal with the studio.
Here comes the big dog. Clifford the Big Red Dog is getting rebooted at PBS Kids. 9 Story Media Group (Prod Co: Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) is making a 26-episode animated series of Clifford the Big Red Dog, the beloved children’s book series by Scholastic. PBS’s 2000 65-episode Clifford the Big Red Dog was a massive hit with 71,000 hours of watch time. A new interactive game will also be launched as a companion to the series.
This Is Us duo, Mandy Moore and writer Julia Brownell, are developing a new untitled project with the help of HBO Max. An IVF story, the show will follow two families coming together against all odds, with Moore set to play one of the parents if the series is greenlit. Moore and Brownell will both executive produce, with the latter serving as showrunner.
