AMPAS’ Sean Baker, Peter Parker’s $100M
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has appointed Oscar-winning director Sean Baker (Anora) along with four dozen other filmmakers, like actress Rita Wilson (Sleepless in Seattle) and Saudi Arabian director Haifaa Al Mansour (The Perfect Candidate), as chairs or vice chairs for the organization’s 2026-27 committees.

ESPN co-founder Bill Rasmussen died at 93 due to the effects of Parkinson’s Disease. Rasmussen didn’t just see a future for sports on television; he built an entire network around it. Founded in 1978 alongside Ed Eagan and his son Scott, Rasmussen served as the network’s first president, forever changing how millions of people watched the games they loved.
