Amazon Prime Video has been working on expanding its catalog of scripted series, ordering a series for Carley Fortune’s viral novel Every Summer After (2022).
The series will be titled Every Year After… here is its official logline:
Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A week to get it right. Every Year After, is a fun, sweeping, romantic story that asks the question, what if your first love actually was your soulmate?
Leila Gerstein, who has written for shows like Gossip Girl and The O.C., is attached to adapt the book for the screen and serve as showrunner and EP.
Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, shared:
“Carley Fortune’s wildly successful book is the perfect blend of heartfelt nostalgia and poignant romance. With Leila Gerstein’s vision the audience will go through an exploration of this remarkable narrative in a way that captures its essence and emotional depth.”
Amazon MGM won the auction for another book adaptation, this time a film, based on the time-traveling female-centered story Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke, for $450 K against $2 M.
