Everyone wants a piece of Austin Butler.
Caught Stealing, the latest film from Requiem for a Dream (2000) director Darren Aronofsky, has released some wild first-look images featuring its versatile ensemble, led by Mr. Butler:
Official Synopsis:
Burned out ex-baseball player Hank Thompson (Butler) unexpectedly finds himself embroiled in a dangerous struggle for survival amidst the criminal underbelly of 1990s New York City, forced to navigate a treacherous underworld he never imagined.
The Bikeriders (2024) actor is joined by what looks like a wacky cast of characters, to say the least, including a mohawked Matt Smith (image) and Liev Schreiber and Vincent D’Onofrio as two badass Jewish mobsters (image).
Every crime story needs a love interest to keep its protagonist from going off the deep end, with two of the new images (image) seeing The Batman’s Zoë Kravitz filling that role in a deep and sensual gaze with Butler’s character (image).
The images also show:
Oscar winner Regina King as a crime investigator in an intense conversation with Hank (image)
Singer Bad Bunny with Nikita Kukusjin and Yuri Kolokonikov as two gangsters (image)
Butler’s Hank is hoping he’s still got his swing (image)
From his slimy, shaved-head antagonist role in Dune 2 (clip) to his Oscar-nominated performance as the titular rockstar Elvis (2022, trailer), if Butler has shown anything in his budding acting career it’s that he has range.
The Sony film will hit theaters on Aug. 29th.
