Warner Bros. lands on top with One Battle After Another scoring 14 nominations and Coogler’s Sinners (not quite matching its record-breaking Oscar number) landing 13 nominations.
Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet is officially the BAFTAs’ most-nominated film by a female director ever, with 11 nominations.
DiCaprio joins an elite group. The OBAA actor ties Daniel Day-Lewis, Michael Caine, and Laurence Olivier for most BAFTA Best Actor nominations with 7, being the youngest in history to hit that milestone.
Major Oscar snubs like Jesse Plemons (Bugonia), Chase Infiniti (OBAA), and supporting actors Odessa A’zion (Marty Supreme) and Paul Mescal (Hamnet) got their flowers in the BAFTA lineup.
After being completely shut out from the Oscars and most of awards season as a whole, Wicked: For Good gets a mini nod for Makeup & Hairstyling and Costume Design.
Shoutout to the only movie from this list I have yet to see, the British film I Swear scored five nominations in major categories like Best Original Screenplay and Best Casting.
The BAFTA winners will be announced Feb 22nd.
