Animation continues to rule, with Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4 making a combined $65.4 M domestic during the weekend.

Here’s the breakdown of Despicable Me 4’s second-weekend domestic performance over the franchise history:

$32.8 M - Despicable Me (2010)

  • 42% drop

$43.8 M - Despicable Me 2 (2013)

  • 48% drop

$33.5 M - Despicable Me 3 (2017)

  • 54% drop

$44.65 M - Despicable Me 4 (2024)

  • 40% drop

  • $211.1 M Domestic total

  • $437.8 M Global

  • $100 M budget

  • Trailer

DM4 bested all previous installments in both the 2nd-weekend drop-off rate and domestic performance. It even outperformed the drop for the latest Minions film. But not its second weekend:
