Yes Studios has secured a fourth 2025 international adaptation of Your Honor, this time in Greece via J K Productions. The original series starring Bryan Cranston follows a judge protecting his son after a hit-and-run. It’s an exciting and increasingly seedy story; no wonder it has been adapted in Ukraine, Hong Kong, and Poland, and now Greece. Original trailer.
Channel 4’s feature film arm, Film4 (Slumdog Millionaire, Poor Things), has named Farhana Bhula as its director. This decision comes just before former longtime Ollie Madden fully transitions into his new role at Netflix, with Bhula serving as interim director since the announcement of his departure back in June.
The BBC is also making big leadership announcements, with BBC Head of Scripted Nick Lee hired as the new Head of Acquisitions, who formerly held the role at (none other than) Channel 4. He will now lead the team in acquiring new titles for TV and film for publication on all BBC platforms, beginning this November
Canal+ group has entered into negotiations to acquire a 34% minority stake in UGC, one of France’s leading cinema chains. The company houses over fifty theaters across France and Belgium, generating millions in revenue every year. Following the acquisition (if everything goes through), Canal will be able to take full control by 2028.
