DC Shakes Things Up
TV:
(There are many in development, but these are the ones with release dates)
Creature Commandos Season one - Already released last month, had some fairly positive but niche buzz, pretty par for the course for an adult animated series.
Peacemaker Season 2 - Surprisingly funny John Cena-led the show was one of the only things that survived the new DCEU cannon wipe. Arrives August 2025
Lanterns - True Detective-style murder mystery but in the Green Lantern universe. Coming in 2026.
Major Features:
Superman - July 11 will kick off Gunn's Universe, but will not be an origin story.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow - Will introduce Milly Alcock's Supergirl, slated for June 26, 2026.
Clayface, a horror film following a well-known Batman villain, has just found its director, James Watkins (Speak No Evil), in production shooting for a 2026 release (Halloween?).
Sgt Rock - War time pulp adaptation after Daniel Craig's departure, currently looking for its lead.
Batman 2 - The sequel to Matt Reeves's Batman movie is currently still waiting on a script. Pushed back as far as 5 years.
Batman The Brave and The Bold: Casting has begun for Gunn's other universe, Batman, and his son Damien Wayne.
There are lots of announcements, some not even covered here, but this mostly all just expands and clarifies from the first time Gunn announced plans in the DC dome in 2023.
I'm definitely coming at it from a lot of different angles, but building an MCU competitor is going to be quite a task, and Gunn has a lot of catching up to do.
