Envy Group (Walking with Dinosaurs) has acquired Halo Group (Alexander: The Making of a God), creating the UK’s largest independent post-production group. This banding together will hopefully allocate resources to the VFX industry, which has recently had some industry-wide struggles.
BBC Studios’ new high-end drama label is being led by Josh Cole, EP of Good Omens, a Prime Video-BBC co-production. Cole will take over as CCO of BBC Studios Fiction while also leading Comedy Productions.
Cannes title, Romeria, is sold by MK2 Films (sales rep. Sentimental Value) to several international territories throughout Europe and the LATAM regions. The semi-autobiographical drama by Carla Simon (Berlin’s Alcarràs) will have its US premiere at the New York Film Festival. Romeria teaser.
Sony Pictures Canada and Bell Media struck a deal, making Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune stream on Crave the next day from September 2025 onwards. Also included in the deal are over 100 classic legacy episodes to binge.
