Gomorrah - The Origins follows in its predecessor’s footsteps. One of Italy’s biggest TV exports, mob series Gomorrah (2014-21), sees its prequel show, Gomorrah - The Origins (trailer), sold to seven European territories by Munich-based Beta Film (Amrum). The deal with HBO Max Germany specifically includes the original show, the prequel, and its spin-off feature film, The Immortal.
ITV has ordered six part legal thriller, Saviour, starring Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), Anjli Mohindra (Bodyguard), and Shaun Parkes (Mangrove). Set in Liverpool, the series follows a fatal incident involving a teenager, with Mohindra playing defence attorney Indy Sangar and Parkes as the detective determined to uncover the truth.
Netflix China has unveiled a shiny new slate led by festival gem (and Oscar snub), the Sean Baker-produced Left-Handed Girl (trailer). With projects ranging from medical dramas to action comedies, psychological thriller series Confessions reunites the creative team behind Netflix China’s black comedy hit The Pig, The Snake, and The Pigeon (2023).
