Our next workshop will focus on the director/actor relationship.
In collaboration with Brady Corbet, director of A24's The Brutalist starring Adrien Brody, we bring you, How to Direct an Oscar Winning Performance.
In this workshop, Brady Corbet will break down how he directed Adrien Brody, who won the Oscar for Best Actor for The Brutalist.
He’ll share the strategies he uses for prepping the script, rehearsal, working with actors on set, and post-production techniques to get the best performance possible.
Corbet has directed some of the best actors working today, including:
Adrien Brody
Natalie Portman
Robert Pattinson
Guy Pearce
Jude Law
But also, Corbet started as a performer, acting in films from incredible directors, including:
Michael Haneke
Lars Von Trier
Noah Baumbach
Antonio Campos
If you are a director, you’ll learn:
How to establish a working relationship with an actor to give them the scope to be creative while following your vision.
How to draw out a stunning performance from your actors without losing trust.
What to do when a scene starts to go wrong.
If you are an actor, you’ll learn:
What directors expect from actors. What actors should expect from directors.
How to translate director notes to make them work for you.
Brady’s process for prepping scenes, shaped by his work with great directors.
There are very few resources to learn practical techniques for the working relationship between actor and director.
For that reason, this workshop is a unique opportunity to hear from someone at the top of their game from both sides of the camera.
Do not miss out!
