Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence to produce and star in The Wives, a murder mystery film co-produced by Apple Studios and A24.
It is no surprise to Lawrence fans that she is attached to the project as she has openly expressed her love for all things Bravo, with this new horror film said to be in the vein of “The Real Housewives” franchises while all other plot details are currently being kept under wraps.
Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley (Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical) will write the script.
Lawrence previously worked with both Apple Studios and A24, in the New Orleans-based heartbreaking indie film Causeway (2022) (trailer), with her performance as well as her screen partner’s, Brian Tyree Henry, widely praised.
The Wives is a big win for Apple, which acquired the rights in a highly competitive situation. Their next release will be the Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum-led romcom Fly Me to the Moon in theaters on July 12th.
