Jeremy Slater (Wri: Mortal Kombat II, The Umbrella Academy) is making his directorial debut with Amazon MGM’s Summoner. The film follows an exorcist named Jefferson Haddock (Kevin Bacon) who is called into an isolated witness protection property, only to unwillingly unleash a demon.
VIZ Media (US Publisher: Full Metal Alchemist) teams up with the Gotham Group (Prod Co: Juror #2) to develop film and television adaptations of their most popular original manga. The deal includes the company’s VIZ Originals comic books such as the widely popular animated RWBY franchise (trailer).
BAFTA will interrogate TV Awards entries for their use of generative AI. A new rule added to BAFTA TV requirements emphasized the importance of human creativity and said that entries that include AI could be subject to investigation.
