Good morning: In today's edition of The Industry, we look at:

Falling for streaming trends, Universal gets Scrambled, Bobby Cannavale on Fire, Pride and Prejudice, and Mussolini.

Let’s go!

Today, we have a poll in the newsletter—not one of those boring ones. It's on a topic we enjoy writing about, and we’d love to get some feedback.

STREAMING TRENDS

Find Me Falling. Netflix.

Last week’s top two films in streaming maintained their position at the top of the charts. In first place was an under-the-radar Rom-Com, Find Me Falling, and in second place, Ron Howard’s Hillbilly Elegy. The first is wonderfully escapist and satisfies the current drought of rom-coms in the market; the other was boosted by the rise in status of the writer (book), JD Vance (VP candidate).

Here’s the breakdown of the top ten (July 26 - Aug 1) by hours viewed:

Find Me Falling (Netflix)

  • Hours Viewed: 5.16 M

  • Runtime: 1hr 33min

  • Est. Views: 3,300,000
