Tubi’s Original feature Summer’s Last Resort casts Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill) and Jerry O’Connell (Billions) in a YA comedy feature. O’Connell will play an overbearing vice principal dating a mom (Bush) of one of his students, who is plotting to break the couple up.
Little Woman and Sharp Objects’ Eliza Scanlen is set to lead psychological drama Let It Come Down. The film follows a couple whose weekend away is interrupted by an unexpected visitor who changes their lives forever, with Scanlen strengthening her dramatic chops.
Chris Sullivan (This Is Us) has joined ABC’s pilot The Rookie: North as Sgt. Nix, a newly promoted watch commander. The spinoff stars Jay Ellis as an older rookie policing Washington’s Pierce County. The stand-alone pilot shoots next month in Vancouver.
Cliff “Method Man” Smith has signed on to Sunny, a dark thriller starring Angelina Jolie and Charlie Plummer. In the crime drama, The Wire actor will play a black-market art dealer named Ruskin, with filming currently ongoing.
Khandi Alexander’s return to ABC sees her no longer as a deranged mom on Scandal but as the newest member of the award-winning comedy Abbott Elementary in a recurring role. Her part has not been disclosed, but she will appear for the first time in next week’s episode.
