Love Never Lets Go
Memory. Love. Obsession. Where does it end?
Nicolás was shattered after losing Daniela. But in a world where memory meets science, a new therapy offers hope—and an unexpected reunion.
That’s the thrust of Nacho Vigalondo’s (Dir: Time Crimes, Neon’s Colossal) latest film DANIELA FOREVER, which premiered at TIFF.
The film shares visual language with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with a liminal dream space that is both invasive and, at times, more real than reality. But what is spellbinding is watching Henry Golding fall to pieces, who has previously been burned into our minds as the buttoned-up, shining smile man with a soft spot in Crazy Rich Asians.
In this film, he is desperate, crippinlingly unsure of himself, and mad with a love that pushes the boundaries of reality.
DANIELA FOREVER is a haunting, heartfelt sci-fi journey through grief, memory, and the dreamscape of lost love. Starring Henry Golding & Beatrice Grannò (White Lotus). Now available on Digital.
