Kate Mara is going to Nam in the thriller feature, Trust the Man. The film is set during the Vietnam War and follows an Army intelligence officer tasked with investigating a dangerous, decorated soldier, which later spawns into an unforeseen and uncontrollable connection. It stars Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe, filming in New Jersey this summer. This seems to be in line with Mara’s recent taking of darker, twisted roles e.g. Bucking Fastard.
Season two of HBO’s Task just got a big new addition in Tim Blake Nelson (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs). Joining Mark Ruffalo’s Tom’s task force, Nelson will play a career cop who plays by his own rules. Much like his portrayal of Heaven’s Gate frontman Marshall Applewhite in the Tribeca-premiering The Leader, Nelson once again steps into the shoes of a man guided by his own questionable code.
HBO Max’s upcoming mockumentary Superman spinoff series has added Mary Holland (CBS’ Ghosts) as the female lead. Set to follow Skyler Gisondo’s Jimmy Olsen in a mockumentary true crime/comedy, Holland is expected to play Sandra, otherwise known as Lois Lane’s sister, Lucy. Little is confirmed regarding her character or the plot of our next look into the DC universe, but they are currently filming.
