Former CAA film finance and sales agent Laura Lewis’ Rebelle Media (Tell Me Lies) has signed a first-look deal with MGM Television. The studio’s first feature project will be a series adaptation of Jo Piazza’s bestselling novel The Sicilian Inheritance. The 2024 murder mystery has been described as “a delicious, escapist story” and development on the series is just beginning.
Black Label Media (Sicario, La La Land) has secured the rights to the debut novel, The White Van, a kinetic heist thriller by Patrick Hoffman with Grant Singer attached to direct. This will be the second go around for Black Label and Singer who are coming off their chart-topping Netflix police procedural Reptile (2023). The filmmaker will team up with Hoffman to adapt his novel.
