NBC drama pilot Protection adds Kat Cunning (On Swift Horses), set to play Peter Krause’s daughter. Cunning’s character, Clare, is an intelligent military agent on her way to becoming a profiler. From Quantico creator Josh Safran, the series will follow a family of law enforcement agents who themselves become the targets of a sneaky assassin.
Grace Beedie (Zero Chill) and David Arquette (Scream 7) star in Indie pic Crazy Sunshine: The Mess We Made. Inspired by true events, the film follows a teen navigating family instability, addiction, and mental health struggles.
Netflix’s City Hunter 2 is on the way. Based on the legendary manga series of the same name, the City Hunter franchise follows a private detective as he shoots his way through Shinjuku. The original cast will be back for the sequel.
Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool) joins Netflix’s Gundam movie. She will star alongside Sydney Sweeney, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), and Michael Mando (Spider-Man: Brand New Day). She is the first Japanese actor cast in the adaptation of the iconic Japanese manga.
Tony and Emmy-winning Judith Light (Transparent) has joined Amazon, MGM Studios, and Point Grey Pictures untitled romantic comedy feature. Light is joining a large ensemble led by Cameron Diaz and Stephen Merchant in a fake marriage that ends in a hilariously unexpected romance. Filming began earlier this month.
