Netflix's Strangers, Amazon's Romance
Gwyneth Paltrow is having a career resurgence. Netflix once again lands on top, obtaining the screen rights to Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage, with the Marty Supreme actress already attached to star and executive produce. A beautiful but tragic bestseller, the memoir details the sudden collapse of a love-filled 20-year marriage and learning how to mourn a once great love story by Belle Burden. Django Unchained producer Stacy Sher will produce with Tony-nominated playwright Heidi Schreck (What the Constitution Means to Me) penning the script.
Former head of Amazon MGM Studios, Jennifer Salke, is producing a film adaptation of Romantic Hero through her recently launched production banner Sullivan Street, alongside Amazon, which won the rights. A mix between Ruby Sparks (2012) and Stranger Than Fiction (2006) and something entirely new, the story follows a heartbroken novelist whose life is changed when the notorious villain from her books appears in the real world.
