Our Beautiful Mess
Bestselling English author Adele Parks is headed to the small screen. The Our Beautiful Mess writer has secured a deal with Studiocanal-backed Strong Film & Television set to develop a series adaptation centered on the interconnected characters who appear across her 25 novels.
Strong Film founder James Strong (dir. Mr Bates vs the Post Office) will co-direct alongside the BAFTA-winning executive producer Loretta Preece (BBC’s Casualty). Known for her dramatic twists, Parks’ novels are beloved for their strong, realistic female protagonists well suited for the screen.
ABC is bringing the children’s book series, The Treehouse, to life, written by Australian authors Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, with Werner Film Productions (ABC’s The Newsreader). The wonderfully silly series follows best friends as they go on absurd adventures inside the ever-expanding treehouse.
Cold War in Philly is a new documentary following one of the most unforgettable nights in hockey history. Philadelphia native film producer Joe Amodei (Just Add Water) is directing the project that will follow the infamous 1976 game between the intimidating Soviet Red Army team versus the Philly Flyers. The doc is set to premiere sometime this spring.
