Teresa Palmer is boarding Subversion, a submarine thriller from Amazon MGM Studios starring Chris Hemsworth. Palmer most recently starred in David Leitch’s action feature The Fall Guy (scene). Palmer now trades fast-paced stunts for the darker, high-stakes world of maritime espionage. Subversion will premiere late next year.
Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious) will star in Don’t Open the Door, a new horror thriller putting him back in partnership with his Black and Blue (trailer) director Deon Taylor. The film, launching a graphic novel-inspired universe, reunites Gibson and Taylor after their 2019 collaboration. Begins production later this year in LA.
Sam Corlett (Vikings: Valhalla) will be playing Dan Fogelman’s younger son, and Tanner Zagarino (The Summer I Turned Pretty) will play his eldest, in the untitled football series for Hulu. Also in the cast: Christopher Meloni, William H. Macy, and Mandy Moore.
Ella Travolta, the 25-year-old daughter of John Travolta, has joined Mark O’Brien (Ready or Not)’s horror comedy Nice People. Starring alongside another famous daughter, Sosie Bacon, who already has horror roots with Smile.
Young Mazino (The Last of Us S2), Stephen Root (Barry), and Stanley Simons (The Iron Claw) will join Jeremy Saulnier’s A24 thriller October, starring Corey Michael Smith (Gotham). Plot details remain secret, though it’s being described as a fugitive thriller set during Halloween. We loved Mazino’s work in The Last of Us Season 2 as Ellie’s reluctant friend.
The Dutton Ranch, Yellowstone’s newest spinoff series, casts Jai Courtney (Suicide Squad). The series will follow fan favorite characters Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, and Courtney will play Rob Will, an “imposing, unpredictable, ranch foreman”. Slated for a 2026 premiere.
FBI offshoot series CIA casts Natalee Linez (Chicago P.D.) to join the upcoming CBS drama as a series regular. Linez will play a trusted CIA analyst. The show is slated for a 2026 midseason premiere.
