Animation continues to rule, with Inside Out 2 and Despicable Me 4 making a combined $105 M domestic during the three-day weekend. However, some of Despicable Me 4’s opening weekend profits were cannibalized by Inside Out 2, which enjoyed a healthy $30 M domestic fourth weekend.

Here’s the breakdown of Despicable Me 4’s domestic performance over the franchise history:

There seems to be some slight growth from DM3 to DM4, but the latest film in the Minions universe outperformed it by a long shot:
