Ryan Coogler’s Proximity, Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw
Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media (Sinners) has hired veteran exec Terra Potts as Chief Marketing & Operations Officer. Potts will oversee all marketing communications across each of the company’s divisions, including film and television.
Major doc producer Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions (Netflix’s Dirty Money) brings on Robert Kessell as EVP of scripted content. Previously serving as VP of narrative film, in his new role, he will work to expand Jigsaw’s scripted projects.
Fox Entertainment Studios adds two new senior execs to its scripted division. FX’s JJ Klein has been appointed SVP for Scripted Entertainment, and former CBS exec, Brie Neimand, as SVP for Scripted development.
Zero Gravity Management (Clients: Rob Schneider, Scott Patterson) brings on a trio of managers. David Romero brings from CAA the Narcos actor Maurice Compte. Suchir Batra also joins, who specializes in Indian/Bollywood talent. Tamer Ahsan brings F1/Three Billboards stunt worker Michael Aaron Milligan.
Hallmark cuts 30 jobs. This move comes after bringing back Former exec Michelle Vicary as Head of Programming. The biggest position cut was that of Jimmy Holcomb (VP of Production). Holcomb, who started as a rigging grip in the late 90s, co-produced The Belko Experiment (2016), co-written by James Gunn.
Super Troopers 3 for Searchlight has begun filming, with most of the cast expected to return, including Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, and Bran Cox, among others. Filming starts this week. Gentlemen, start your mustaches.
