Lionsgate Play, a South Asian streaming service with over 40M viewers, reveals its Theatrical-First plan. The Asian streamer operates under a licensing agreement with its parent studio, Lionsgate. Their curated selection of over 100 premium Hollywood titles will get theatrical premieres prior to their arrival on the platform. The slate includes films like Billion Dollar Spy starring Russell Crowe, Primetime starring Robert Pattinson, and Greenland 2: Migration (2026). The platform offers Hollywood and local content through a multi-year deal with Lionsgate.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez’s (Dir: The Birthday Party starring Willem Dafoe) new drama finds home at AF Films (Spanish production company of Above and Below). Jiménez’s new film Hijos del Miedo follows the story of Salva, a far-right radical who runs away to hide in Southern Spain after brutally beating up an immigrant. Jiménez perfectly depicted the “Eurotrash” world of extreme wealth and decadence in The Birthday Party (2025). We are excited to see how he deals with youth radicalization and racism in his new drama.
Oliver Jones hired as Senior Commissioner for Amazon’s UK Scripted division. Jones was previously a Senior Creative Executive at International Scripted Television at Apple, where he oversaw series like Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (Godzilla series) and Masters of the Air (Apple TV series) for the last six years.

TaleSphere Studios (joint venture between Kartoon Studios and AETH Entertainment) is making The Vault, a live-action anthology series made in tribute to Marvel’s allfather, Stan Lee. The show will focus on his legacy and passion for storytelling, of how he created the Marvel superheroes that became cultural icons.
