Stoked Bros Media is remaking Strictly Sexual, the 2008 cult comedy by Joel Viertel. Viertel returns to direct, with co-writer Stevie Long and producer Jarnell Stokes. The film explores modern relationships through two women who invite men for no-strings intimacy, only to start to fall in love. Production begins later this year. Original Trailer.
Following the Sundance Film festival, longtime industry exec Julie Waters and real estate developer Evan Dyal have launched their production and finance company Watermark Media. The company’s first project was the rom-com Oh, Hi!, which was written by and stars Molly Gordon (The Bear) and premiered at this year’s festival. Watermark Media is currently co-financing and producing a slate of at least four other projects, all in the production and post-production stages.
Storied Media Group, which reps Vince Gilligan, will help license Daily Mail’s stories to Hollywood. It’s a smart tactic as the IP-hungry industry looks to everything from podcasts to Reddit threads for inspiration. We hope they get a big buyer.
