The Toronto Film Festival has announced the 11 feature films making up The Wavelengths program, projects that celebrate boundary-pushing filmmaking.

The Diary of a Chambermaid (Le journal d’une femme de chambre) ‘
Dir: Radu Jude (Bad Luck Banging or Looney Porn)

Had its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section at Cannes
Synopsis:
A young Romanian woman living in France works for a French family and joins a theatre company who are adapting Octave Mirbeau’s “Diary of a Chambermaid.”

Will have its World Premiere at TIFF
Synopsis:
On an island where humans are controlled as avatars by a mysterious voice in a driving app, two estranged sisters with supernatural abilities team up with an overworked detective and rebel motorcyclist only to become haunted by a startling revelation: the voice they’re pursuing could be their own dead mothers.
Nobody’s Violence (Violence du corps de l’autre)
Dir/Wri: Denis Côte (Curling)
Cast: Gabrielle Lazure (The Beautiful Prisoner)
Synopsis:
Follows a traveling girl working for a mysterious organization that offers euthanasia services to desperate individuals in a dystopian world.
The 51st edition of TIFF will run from Sept. 10-20.
