Universal’s Twisters ruled the box office, as it took the number one spot and massively over-performed with $80.5 M domestically and $123.2 M worldwide. It became the highest-grossing domestic disaster film opening of all time. It is already on track to make back its $155 M budget with the top-performing theater in suburban Oklahoma City, e.g., tornado country.
