Rex Bressler’s feature directorial debut, The Avoidant, has finalized its cast. A mix of The Matrix and Blade Runner with a dash of existential dread, the film is billed as an AI thriller about cult-like corporate theocracy and ritualistic suicides. Pretty dark for a debut, but The Artificial writer will direct from his own script with production beginning next week.
Variance Films (Distributed RRR) to oversee theatrical distribution of Orlando von Einsiedel’s (Netflix’s Evelyn) next film The Cycle of Love. EPed by Priyanka Chopra-Jonas (The Bluff), the film documents the romantic journey of PK Mahanandia, a Delhi street artist who trekked 6,000 miles by bicycle in 1977, to reunite with the woman he loved.

WWII U-boat drama Das Boot is coming to streamer MHz Choice. All four seasons of this classic series were available previously on Hulu. The show follows the crew of a German U-boat during World War II as they navigate the psychological and physical horrors of war, both at sea and on land.
