The writer behind The X-Files, Frank Spotnitz, is making his return to sci-fi, joining the Swedish series We Come in Peace as a writing supervisor and executive producer with his London-based Big Light Productions. After turning down several alien sci-fi dramas since X-Files concluded back in 2002, upon reading the pilot Spotnitz said:
“This isn’t just another sci-fi series, it’s compelling, thought-provoking, and deeply human.”
The six-part series explores the chaos unleashed when a mysterious jellyfish-like object appears in the sky over Stockholm, sparking widespread panic, fear and confusion among the population.
Max has found its first Italian scripted original in Portobello, a TV series from Italian auteur Marco Bellocchio (Good Morning, Night). The new drama will tell the story of Italian TV host Enzo Tortora, who was a victim of one of Italy’s most clamorous travesties of justice. Max is now available in 25 countries throughout Europe and the show along with Max Italy will debut sometime in 2026.
