Hi All,
We are thrilled to collaborate once again with Ted Hope, who will be joined by his wife, Venessa Hope - who is an incredible director and filmmaker.
Vanessa Hope is the director and producer behind the recent documentary Invisible Nation (2024), an official selection at CPH:DOX and IDFA and winner of the audience award at the Middleburg Film Festival.
She excels at giving the oppressed a voice. Like much of her work, Invisible Nation finds tremendous heart in a complex geopolitical story.
Ted Hope started as an indie producer in New York with Ang Lee’s Pushing Hands (1991) and went on to become Amazon Studios Head of Motion Picture Development, Production and Acquisitions from 2015-2020, overseeing Manchester by the Sea, You Were Never Really Here and Cold War (and many more).
In this workshop, Ted and Vanessa will show you how to make documentaries that matter and make sure they get seen!
You will learn:
How Vanessa developed the film, Invisible Nation.
Ted will speak on how to properly prepare for production
And how collaborative teams work to get more from less
Ted will talk about the release strategy
Q&A
In this workshop, they will show you the strategies and tactics they used to get their feature-length documentary through production and into the theaters.
