Apple TV’s limited series The Off Weeks casts new actors to join Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain. Succession’s Zoë Winters and Dying For Sex’s Tony Macht will appear in recurring roles in the upcoming eight-episode divorce comedy.
Emilia Pérez’s Edgar Ramírez has signed on to Baton, an underdog soccer story and feature directorial debut of actor Danny Ramirez. It looks like the kids were cast first, and now Ramírez, CODA’s Eugenio Derbez, and Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka) have joined, with filming ongoing in Atlanta.
Focus Features and Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment are in talks with Corey Hawkins (BlacKkKlansman) and Kelvin Harrison Jr. (Mufasa) to star in the feature adaptation of Death of a Salesman. They would be joining a solid team of Jeffrey Wright, Octavia Spencer, and Till director Chinonye Chukwu attached to direct.
The Netflix limited series All The Sinners Bleed adds Kelly Jenrette (CW’s All American: Homecoming) in a recurring role. From Amblin and the Obamas’ Higher Ground, Jenrette will star as a member of a small Bible belt community rocked by a town murder.
Hulu’s YA drama series Foster Dade brings on Jaden Michael (Netflix’s Colin in Black and White) to join its young ensemble cast. In the boarding school set show, Michael will play one of the only openly gay students who dreams of being an actor.
The MGM+ series Bosch: Start of Watch adds JD Pardo (Roadhouse, 2024) JD to its cast. He’ll play a professional thief and the older brother of Shameless actor Cameron Monaghan’s Bosch. The prequel show will begin filming this summer.
60s TV actress Lory Patrick (Bonanza) has died at 92. Besides her numerous TV appearances, Patrick also impressively wrote several episodes of the TV western Bonanza (1959-73) under a male pseudonym.
