About The Industry
Welcome to The Industry; I started the newsletter back in August 2023 because I felt that the way I consumed film news was catastrophically insufficient.
I felt like I was inundated with mass volumes of industry news on a daily basis, but I still struggled to stay on top of things.
And most importantly, it was hard to make sense of what was relevant to my career.
As an independent filmmaker in the midst of developing a time travel feature film, I felt that the resources needed to advance my career were scattered.
So I started writing.
A daily newsletter that curated the daily deluge of industry news into a simple, digestible daily email.
A community began to form.
From readers just beginning their film careers (a high-schooler debating the merits of film school emailed me last week) to students at NYU, USC, and UCLA, to directors who own small film businesses around the world, to CEOs who are running top-tier commercial agencies to producers that have had feature films that played at Sundance, Venice, and Cannes to executives at A24, Sony, Paramount, Warner Bros., Universal to Academy Award Winners.
It’s been an amazing journey to see all the positive feedback for The Industry.
