Moby Interview - From David Lynch to Sundance

I sat down with 6-time Grammy-nominated Moby at Sundance for an interview about his new production company, Little Walnut. As well as his business and producing partner, Lindsay Hicks.

They’ve been crushing it recently, EPing The Incomer, starring Domhnall Gleeson, which just premiered at Sundance, and Eternal Return starring Kit Harington, which premiered at TIFF last year.

The interview includes a deep dive into Moby’s relationship with David Lynch and how it both sparked and enhanced his creativity. Moby also opened up about how, as an artist, he gains objectivity when he’s been working on something too long. Lindsay shared how the vision for their production company morphed over time, and how their mission is to support filmmakers whose films have a mission.

There are very few artists who have had the staying power of Moby. And there’s a tremendous amount of wisdom here for any creative in the film industry.

Moby’s career has had an interesting intersection with film. His music has been used extensively in film, from Gone in 60 Seconds to the Bourne series to True Detective. He’s even made an entire album of remixed film scores, including a remixed James Bond theme from Tomorrow Never Dies.

Moby opened up about what drives him artistically and even shared a couple of semi-secret film projects he’s working on.

Find out more info on his production company, Little Walnut, here.
