Brandt Andersen is one of the most prolific action producers working in Hollywood. Which is why it’s such a shock that he found it nearly impossible to get his first feature, I Was a Stranger, off the ground.

We dive pretty deep, including him chatting with a smuggler in Turkey to do background research for his film.

Synopsis for Andersen’s directorial debut, I Was a Stranger, for which he also wrote the screenplay:

The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, in the Special Gala section, where it won the Amnesty International Film Award.
It stars Omar Sy (The Intouchables, Jurassic World).
